Why Businesses Put Their Own Label on Bottled Water
Published by the AquaZen team
Your business already buys bottled water. Branding it costs little extra and puts your logo in the hand of every client, member and guest — here is why own-label water has become standard.
You are already paying for the bottle — just not the label
Most businesses treat bottled water as a line item: something bought generically and handed out in meetings without a thought. Branded water reframes that same spend. The bottle on the boardroom table, in the gym fridge or in the event goodie bag is one of the few physical objects a client actually holds, and the label on it is either someone else's brand or yours.
Because the water, the bottle and the logistics are identical either way, the switch to own-label is one of the cheapest branding decisions available — the cost difference is a label, not a product.
Where branded water works hardest
Client-facing meetings are the classic case: a branded bottle at every seat signals preparation the way branded stationery once did. Gyms and studios put their logo into members' hands and their social media photos every session. Estate agents and dealerships hand a branded bottle to every visitor at show houses and test drives — a courtesy that doubles as a leave-behind. Conferences and sponsored events multiply all of this: hundreds of attendees, each carrying and photographing your logo for the length of the event.
Guesthouses and lodges use it differently — a personalised welcome bottle in the room reads as hospitality rather than advertising, which is exactly why guests remember it.
What it actually costs
Own-label water is priced per bottle on the same quantity-band model as standard bottles: the more bottles in your order, the less each one costs. Personalised bottles carry a higher minimum order than standard bottles because every label design is its own production run — the practical effect is that branded water suits recurring office orders and events, not one-off small purchases.
At AquaZen, personalised 500ml bottles are sold per bottle with quantity discounts, delivery is a flat R 99,00 per order across Gauteng and Cape Town, and you supply the label artwork — or simply your logo — when you order. The price shown is the price you pay; no VAT is charged.
Getting the label right
The strongest water labels are the simplest: a logo, a brand colour and at most one line of text, legible from across a table. Bottles are small, curved and often wet with condensation, so dense designs and fine print disappear. If your artwork exists as a clean logo file, it is already most of the way to a label.
One practical tip: order enough of one design to last a defined period rather than reordering in small batches, because quantity bands reward the consolidated order and your design does not change week to week.
Starting an order
Our branded water page shows the personalised range, minimum quantities and per-bottle prices, and the bulk and corporate page explains how quantity bands price a large or recurring order. Artwork is uploaded during checkout, and we confirm a proof by email before anything is printed.
